The 2025 Regulations

New Vaping Laws in New Zealand: What You Need to Know

As of June 17th, 2025, New Zealand’s vaping industry will undergo major regulatory changes. These updates form part of the government's continued effort to minimise youth access to vaping products and create tighter controls around how vaping is marketed, sold, and displayed across the country.

While these changes are well-intentioned, aiming to support responsible use and reduce harm, they will bring significant adjustments to the way we operate as a retailer — and to how you, as a customer, experience vaping in New Zealand. Below, we’ve outlined the most important changes and what they mean for you.

Product Images and Visual Displays Will Be Restricted

Another major shift will be the restrictions on how vaping products are presented both online and in physical stores. Retailers across the country will be required to remove product images from websites, and general retail locations will no longer be allowed to display any vaping products in-store.

Specialist vape retailers like us will still be able to display products inside our stores, but they must not be visible from outside. If you visit us in store you will notice our windows now have a frosted covering and our doors are closed (we're still open). These regulations will make online browsing less visual, but our commitment to providing accurate product information and expert advice will remain unchanged.

Promotions, Discounts, and Loyalty Programs Are Being Phased Out

Under the new legislation, we are required to discontinue all forms of promotional activity. This includes:

  • Loyalty programs
  • Discount codes and sales promotions
  • Free gifts, giveaways, and prize draws
  • Free shipping
  • Weekly emails

But the good news is, we've dropped our pricing on local e-liquids! Check it out here.

Disposable Vapes Will No Longer Be Sold

One of the most impactful changes is the ban on disposable vaping devices. From June 17th, any device that cannot be refilled or recharged will be prohibited from sale. This includes single-use vapes that have become widely used for their convenience and ease of access.

If you currently rely on disposable products, now is a great time to consider alternatives. Devices like the Inmood Device and Pre-filled Pods offer a similar level of convenience but are fully compliant with the new rules. These systems allow for flavour variety and ease of use while meeting regulatory requirements.

What This Means for You

We understand these changes may be frustrating. They impact how you explore new products, receive updates, and benefit from loyalty rewards. However, our core mission remains the same: to offer a safe, supportive space for adult vapers to access high-quality products and expert advice.

Our website will continue to offer our full range of e-liquids, refillable devices, and compliant pod kits — although with less imagery and promotional messaging. Behind the scenes, our team is still here to provide the same level of support you’ve come to expect.

How to Stay Connected

While email and promotional communication will be restricted, you can continue to engage with us directly:
